This class introduces dancers to tap and ballet techniques. Students will learn basic terminology while dancing with props, participating in imagination activities and playing games. 
Class Goals:
  • ​Continue learning warm-up activities such as pointes and flexes, toe touching, straddle and butterfly positions. 
  • Retain ballet movements including plies, tendus, sautes, basic jumps and hops, skips with alternating feet, and gallops. 
  • Take turns while performing traveling movements such as chasse, pas de chat, ombortes and grande jetes across the floor.
  • Move as a group while working through the difference between toe and heel tap movements and sounds.
  • Practice musicality techniques including counting music and holding poses for specified amounts of time. 
  • Learn and retain recital choreography for a ballet and tap dance in the spring recital.
