This class combination introduces dancers to jazz while continuing to develop tap and ballet techniques. Games are still played but are focused on learning how to perform on stage, create improv routines and move using beats and rhythms. 
Class Goals:
  • Develop knowledge of ballet class structure participating in barre, center and traveling activities.
  • Learn jazz terminology and movements including a jazz warm-up that includes isolations, energetic movements to music and stretches adding front splits to the previous list. Travel with stylized walks, chasses with alternating legs, and drag steps. 
  • Begin to memorize names of toe/heel combinations that make up tap terminology while continuing to develop techniques for counting and listening to music. 
  • Learn and retain recital choreography for a ballet, tap and jazz routine in the spring recital.
